A Musical Ensemble For 70 Guitars
On Sunday, June 22nd,
2008, 6:00PM, seventy young guitarists (students) assembled in Hotel de Ville de Lagny-sur-Marne,
a suburb of Paris. They performed an orchestra arrangement of Vivaldi's
The 4 Seasons; Adagio and Allegro, for seventy guitars. Etienne Candela, guitar teacher, led the ensemble.
Two music
schools organized the concert. TheConservatoire de Musique de Bussy
Saint Georges and the second school from Lagny. Music education for
children is important in France. This concert took place during the
"Fete de la Musique", National Music Day, that takes place every year
on June 21st.
